2015 HMI Inter-Schools Challenge

Congratulations to Ryley Millar & Lauren Griffiths of Year 11 who participated in the HMI-Inter Schools Challenge at McCarthy Catholic College. The challenge took place on Friday 13th March 2015 and is aimed at year 11 and 12 Hospitality students. The challenge encompasses three main skill areas that are valued by the hospitality industry. These skill areas include: The HMI Cook Off, Marketing Presentations and Hotel Problem Solving Scenarios. Prior to the day of the challenge students visited the Hotel Management Institute (HMI) at the Hydro Majestic were they listened to speeches from industry professionals and toured the facilities of the hotel. An exciting and fulfilling experience for Ryley and Lauren. While Ryley and Lauren didn’t win any prizes on the day the students received the most positive feedback for the marketing presentation that they prepared as well as high praise for each part of the challenge that they participated in.
