Parental involvement

Working in partnership is the basis for all parent initiatives at St Columba’s.

We welcome parent and carer involvement in St Columba’s and invite parents and carers to contribute towards building community by contributing to the life of the College and its future hopes and dreams through volunteer roles. These include:

  • uniform shop
  • parent education workshops
  • social justice initiatives
  • pastoral care
  • hospitality
  • parent forums
  • working bees
  • pastoral outreach program

Parent representatives at St Columba’s maintain close liaison with the Parramatta Diocesan Parents Representative Council ensuring that St Columba’s contributes to the work of this body and that St Columba’s parents and carers are kept informed of its ongoing work.

The Parents Representative Council represents the parents and carers of children attending Catholic schools in the Diocese of Parramatta. They work in partnership with school staff, the Catholic Education Office, priests and the Bishop.

We look forward to working with parents in the education, care and support of your children. It is important to note that all volunteer workers in schools are required to undergo child protection training. Visit the Parramatta Catholic Education Office website 'Building Child Safe Communities' for more information.
