Cricketing Legend in the making?

16 year old Ryan Hackney, a St Columba’s Catholic College student, has been selected to play for the u17 Cricket Australia XI in Adelaide in the u19 National Championships. Ryan plays Grade Cricket for Penrith and earned his selection through competing in the u17 nationals in Brisbane during October where he opened the batting for metro NSW scoring 495 runs, averaging 82. He scored 3 centuries including one in the final against Queensland who defeated NSW. Ryan was the leading run scorer for the carnival and named player of the carnival. During Ryan’s marathon batting sessions, he broke a NSW record, of 20 years standing set, by Dominic Thornley by 20 runs for the highest run scorer of the carnival.
